Ryobi One Plus
Background & Objectives:
Ryobi were the first tool supplier of Bunnings to be given an opportunity to install their own displays in Bunnings stores with strict criteria on the amount of branding allowable on the display. The idea of the display was to communicate that all Ryobi tools can be operated by using the same battery. Theirs is the only brand that offers this feature and is the major selling point.
Individual tool holders were designed for each tool so that all of the tools faced the same direction making it easier for customers to see the brand as well as making it easy for customers to handle the tools. A digital screen operated by push button is a primary part of the display to give prospective customers more information on the system.
MATERIALS & MANUFACTURING PROCESSES
• Durable welded steel construction, reflective of the tough image of the power-tools and an “iDisplay interactive screen”.
• Ease of assembly: Components easily fit via teeth and slots into the existing platform.
• Function and use of retail space: Tool holders are utilised to rise and display and tools in a neat fashion reducing clutter, still remaining easy for customers to pick up, touch and feel.
The ONE Plus bay in Bunnings stores were installed in late 2011. The concept allowed Ryobi to merchandise product range in a uniform manner across nearly 200 Bunnings stores throughout the country. Moreover, it created a compelling and eye-catching in-store presence that worked hard to communicate their key message – that only Ryobi has a universal battery system for all its power tools.
