Design

Effective point-of-sale material starts with an effective design. Designs often start with concept sketches to ensure that we have correctly interpreted the customer's brief prior to proceeding to the detailed phase of the process.

Step 1
Many projects will then proceed to the 3D rendering phase where the item is created in a virtual 3D model - from which near photo quality images of the product can be produced. This is the most cost effective means of fine-tuning the design prior to investing in the production of a prototype or sample.

The technical and dimensional aspects of the design are then resolved using a Computer Aided Design (CAD) program from which final component and product drawings are produced. Production parts will then be produced from these drawings. Often processes such as laser-cutting and CNC routing can be performed directly from the CAD files, eliminating human error in transferring the information to those processes.

Step 3

In some cases it is still necessary to produce a prototype or pre-production sample of a product, whether for testing, customer approval or for presenting the concept to the customer's management or client. These are generally produced by hand and can be a costly exercise - although larger projects often demand this final stage of the design process before committing to the final specifications of the unit.
